Charm City Concierge wins Columbia office park contract

Baltimore Business Journal

March 6, 2012 - Charm City Concierge has secured a contract with seven buildings in the Columbia Corporate Center in Howard County, adding to its portfolio of 180 buildings in the Baltimore-Washington area.

The company will provide concierge services to companies that occupy the buildings. The company would not disclose terms of the deal.

The buildings’ landlord, General Growth Properties Inc. , pays a retainer to Charm City Concierge, said Christina Urquhart, Charm City’s president. Employees then pay market rate or lower for concierge services such as dry cleaning, auto detailing and securing tickets for plays and other events. About 2,000 people work in the Columbia buildings.

Urquhart said she won the contract through a relationship with Cushman & Wakefield , which manages the buildings. Cushman & Wakefield is a tenant in 500 E. Pratt St., one of the buildings Charm City Concierge serves, she said.

Urquhart said her company’s services allows a landlord to offer tenants amenities that other buildings might not have. It also can be a way to attract new companies to a building, she said.
