Royal Wedding Pop-Up Bar

1839 7th St NW, DC

Cost: No cover charge

Celebrate the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with this new elaborate construction. Expect recreations of the wedding cake, St. George’s Chapel and Buckingham Palace, a back room that will feature a red and gold throne, and creative cocktails. There will also be a special viewing party of the wedding on the morning of May 19.

Around the World Embassy Tour

Cultural Tourism DC hosts the annual international open house, during which visitors can tour over 40 beautiful embassy buildings, with exclusive demonstrations from traditional dancing and music to food and cultural exhibitions. Spring Cocktail Crawl

FlowerMart Festival

A traditional rite of spring in historic Mt. Vernon, the FlowerMart hosts over 150 vendors, with contests, all day entertainment, children’s activities, food court/gourmet food vendors, and of course, flowers of all kinds.

2018 Food Fight

The 2018 Food Fight is a 3-day event where volunteers can help pack 5,000,000 meals to feed over 14,000 children around the world. Thousands of volunteers from across Northern Virginia will come together with a common goal of fighting world hunger.

Movie Night – Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Kick off outdoor film screenings with the latest installment of the Star Wars story, The Last Jedi, for a pre-May the 4th screening. Light Saber duels are not encouraged unless you’re a Jedi.

Chinese Lantern Festival

Franklin Square

Cost: $18 timed tickets available online

Led by the 200-foot-long dragon, 1500 brilliantly colorful illuminated sculptures overtake Franklin Square. New this year: an endangered species gallery, a walk-through great white shark lantern tunnel, and an elephant lantern that changes colors as guests pedal a bicycle. As always, visitors can watch cultural performances, purchase food and drinks throughout the square and in the Dragon Beer Garden, and shop for artisan-made crafts.

Spring Fest 2018

South St from 2nd to 8th Sts

Cost: Pay as you go

This annual event includes a few dozen concerts, eating contests, a Kids’ Zone, and nearly 200 vendors. It also includes Maifest, Brauhaus Schmitz’s German beer and dancing extravaganza, complete with a giant traditional Maypole.
